With half term fast approaching, we’ve put together our favourite things to do with the kids in Newquay and the surrounding area!

1. Eden Project

No Trip to Cornwall would be complete without a visit to the Eden Project. In the colder months families can enjoy a wintery wonderland on Eden’s very own ice rink! You can get your skates on until the 28th of February!

2. Take a Surf Lesson

Don’t let the colder water stop you, get suited up and hit the waves. Our surf school partner, Escape Surf School offers lessons and surf breaks for the whole family, starting from just £25! We think no trip to Cornwall is complete without taking a dip in our beautiful ocean!

3. Rock pool Ramble

It doesn’t have to be summertime for kids to enjoy exploring our beautiful beaches. Grab a bucket and net and go for a rock pool ramble on Fistral beach! Just a 5-minute walk from the Atlantic Hotel, it’s the perfect playground for little explorers.

4. Explore Gardens

Cornwall is renowned for it’s beautiful gardens year-round. Let the little ones run free while the adults enjoy a leisurely walk around some of the UK’s most spectacular gardens.

5. Seal spotting

If you head down to Newquay Harbour, you may be lucky enough to spot some of our resident grey seals! Even if they’re not out to play, you can still enjoy the hustle and bustle of Newquay’s fishing port.

6. Blue Reef Aquarium

To get closer to some of Cornwall’s marine species, take a trip to Newquay’s Blue Reef Aquarium. You’ll be able to take an underwater tour of species ranging from the British coastline, to faraway tropical reefs! The perfect fun and educational day out!

7. Make a splash!

Take a dip in a waterpark such as Newquay’s Waterworldl! Let the kids make a splash and tire them out before heading back to the Atlantic for a relaxing evening.

8. Play Zookeeper

With 130 species, the award winning Newquay Zoo is sure to be a hit with children of all ages. Who wouldn’t want to feed lions and waddle with penguins?

9. The Energy Burner

What better way to wear the kids out than a fun family walk on the beach to spend some quality time together surrounded by gorgeous rugged coastlines and salty sea air. A wonderful trip out for the family and it costs absolutely nothing!

10. Zip wire!

For the adrenaline junkies, head to Lusty Glaze Beach to take on the 120ft zip wire from cliff to cliff… If you dare!

Kids stay free at the Atlantic Hotel so half term doesn’t have to break the bank! If you do undertake any of the above events this half term, post a picture on our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter pages, we’d love to see!
