We’ve been speaking to some of our previous wedding couples to ask them about their experience at the Atlantic Hotel. This month we spoke to Nicki and asked about her special day with husband Jamie at the Atlantic.
Hi Nicki, your wedding photos look beautiful! Why did you choose to get married at the Atlantic?
We chose the Atlantic Hotel because we really wanted to have a wedding in Cornwall and we love Newquay in particular as we used to have short anniversary breaks there.
When we went to view venues we were absolutely blown away by the Atlantic—the décor and the friendliness of the team were impeccable and no other venue came close to matching the Atlantic’s high standard.
What made your wedding at the Atlantic Hotel so special?
It was lovely to have all of our 70 family and friends in one place and to have them experience the ‘wow’ factor the Atlantic offers. Every area of the hotel is incredible, from the Grand Ballroom to the Honeymoon Suite. We had ice creams and photos on the lawn, we got married in the Grand Ballroom and the honeymoon suite was incredibly spacious—the whole bridal party had enough space to get ready there in the morning!
What food and drinks did you choose for your wedding?
The food was absolutely amazing; we had fresh fruit appetisers, tomato soup to start, followed by juicy roast beef with all the trimmings and then delicious profiteroles and petit fours. All of our guests commented on how wonderful the food was and our vegetarians that had a mushroom and pine nut pasta said it was some of the best things they’d ever eaten!
What kind of response did you get from your guests?
Since the wedding, all of our guests have been so enthusiastic and have even told us it was one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to. They all commented on how gorgeous the venue was and how delicious the dishes were. It’s an amazing feeling to be told everyone at your wedding had an amazing time and a huge part of that was the team at the Atlantic Hotel and how they pulled out all the stops to make it such a spectacular and memorable day. They really went the extra mile.
Where was your favourite photo spot?
We loved our photos on the lawn the most because there was room for all of our guests to gather and have photos with us. The group photo on the lawn in the beautiful sunshine with a stunning Atlantic Ocean backdrop really added something extra to the typical wedding photo.
Finally Nicki, what would be your top tip to future Atlantic brides?
I’d have to say a top tip for a future Atlantic bride would be to have some lovely photos on the balcony with bridesmaids admiring the view over Newquay. Make the most of the fantastic venue and enjoy your special day, enjoy every moment.
