Family Fun in the Summer in Newquay

We’ve put together our top things to do in Newquay when visiting with the family! There is so much to do in Newquay that you need not go anywhere but if you do decide to venture out, you’ll find beaches, gardens and attractions far and wide, from Poldark Tours to the Eden Project! Here are our top picks of things to do in Newquay…

Newquay Zoo

You can’t come to Newquay without visiting the zoo! Lions and tigers, oh my! The local zoo is only moments away from the Atlantic and promises a fantastic day out. Over 130 rare and exciting creatures, feeder talks, animal experiences and summer barbeques, this is the place to be – from pandas to peacocks and everything inbetween, it’s a great day out!

The Beach

Which one? With so many beaches to choose between in Newquay, you’re spoiled for choice! We’re a little biased as we’re only a short wander from Fistral Beach and so we love that one the most but we’re also huge fans of Crantock, Lusty Glaze and Mawgan Porth, to name a few! There is nothing better than getting out the beach gear and enjoying a classic day out with a bucket and spade (and a good novel for Mum!). We can point you in the direction of places to eat whilst you’re out and about, or why not ask us and we’ll get our chefs to pack you a picnic lunch!

Holywell Bay Fun Park

For a day of adrenaline, you simply have to take the kids to Holywell Bay Fun Park! There is free entry, free parking and 25 rides and attractions including Go Karts, Blaster Boats and a crazy maze! After walking on water, time on the bouncy castle and the trampolines, the children will sleep soundly and perhaps for the more sedate, you could try your hand at the Crazy Golf or the Hillbilly Shooting Range.

Surf lessons

When in Newquay it’s the “done” thing to try your hand (or should we say, your legs) at surfing! We work closely with Escape Surf School in Newquay who offer a range of lessons or surf days for the entire family! Whether you’re a total beginner or the next Jock Barnes, there is something for everyone. And don’t forget, if you visit in August, we’ve got the world famous Boardmasters Festival 5th-9th August nearby so you’ll get to see some of the best surfers competing in one of the biggest events in the British surfing calendar!

Swim in the outdoor pool

Some days you don’t want to go anywhere at all and we don’t blame you! With our suntrap swimming pool, we can think of nothing better than lounging around and getting a sun tan, making a splash and enjoying lunch on our Sea View Terrace.

Whether you’re looking for an active family holiday, a luxury surf break with lessons, a relaxing beach break or a chance to explore the cliff tops with the kids and Rover in tow, we are bound to have the perfect deal!
