Following the recent changes in food hygiene ratings, management at the Atlantic Hotel would like to share some background and our action plan with guests and employees.

Built in 1892, the hotel blends classic interiors with opulence and many original features. In January this year, as we employed a new head chef and recruited other critical members of staff, we started a series of improvements to revamp certain areas and modernise the facilities.

As part of this process, we worked with the EHO to gain valuable advice and benchmark best practices, and it was at this stage that the hotel was assessed.

We have made solid plans against a clear timescale for the refurbishment to be carried out. The vast majority of the improvements will be completed within one month, and the remaining actions will be completed within three months. Processes have also been updated to ensure that high standards will be maintained in future.

The inspectors have been satisfied that during this time, the hotel can continue welcoming guests through its doors.

Our guests’ satisfaction and safety are paramount to us, and we will continue addressing any issues proactively to fulfil our obligation.

We welcome any queries or feedback concerning the refurbishment programme to [email protected].
