The month of June is full of excitement, especially in Newquay where we can literally smell Summer in the air now! Sun, sea and Silks Cocktails are the order of the day and we have that by the bucketful here at The Atlantic. On sunny days, Newquay visitors and locals alike have already started off BBQ season, squeezing in a few ‘sundowners’ at one of the many amazing spots around Newquay.
We always have our very own amazing spot, Silks Sea view terrace, open to both residents and non residents who want to enjoy alfresco drinks or food with one of the finest views in Newquay. Ideally situated for watching one of our glorious Cornish sunsets, it’s open as of 10.30am and is a stone’s throw away from the Atlantic Ocean.
Sunday June 15th is Father’s Day and as always Silks likes to make a big fuss of special occasions, especially treating loved ones. We are running a fabulous 3 course Sunday meal, including a delicious Roasted Beef course- perfect for the Dads! This month, Silks sees the start of our new ‘Moules Frites’ evening every Thursday night, which can be taken on our Silks Sea view terrace when it’s nice weather or in our beautifully decorated Bistro, all for the reduced price of £9.95. Our succulent local Mussels are cooked either traditionally in a Mariniere sauce or spiced up in a Mouclade sauce as you like them. This is the perfect indoor or alfresco Summer dish as we enter the warmer months. Pair it with our house Sauvignon Semillion for a Summer match made in heaven.
Talking of matches…Silks will be running a 2 course Wimbledon inspired lunch menu (priced at £12.95) throughout the prestigious tennis tournament (23rd June-6th July), teamed with a great special offer on our Afternoon high teas, along with a fitting Strawberries and Cream dish especially created by our head chef Aaron Janes. All this can be enjoyed in the sun on our Al Fresco Silks Sea-view terrace or in Silks Bistro where we will be showing the tennis live on our 42″ TV screen.
