The Name’s Bond, James Bond

2 December 2015

Join us for our very own 007 themed evening this New Year’s Eve at the Atlantic Hotel Newquay. Enjoy a delicious meal in our Chandelier Sea View Dining Room or our rosette awarded Silks Bistro and Champagne Bar before you head into our evening extravaganza of entertainment to celebrate the last night of 2015 in style!

Enjoy a casino night by the sea where you can try your hand at blackjack like a James Bond hero or place your bets on the roulette wheel. You’ll dance the night away with a live band, followed by a DJ, and enjoy a spectacular firework display over the harbour to greet 2016!

To that end, we thought we’d tell you about some of our favourite James Bond films to give you some inspiration…

Casino Royale

James Bond fans were keen to see Casino Royale and meet their new slick star, Daniel Craig. As true Bond fans will know, Miss Moneypenny is completely absent from this Bond storyline, and instead we’re left to focus on Bond gaining his 007 status, his deceitful love interest Vesper Lynd and dastardly villain Le Chiffre.

GoldenEye

What could be more exciting than our James Bond hero stopping a nuclear space weapon hijack? Pierce Brosnan plays our brave hero in this rugged action movie and was the first movie in the Bond series to incorporate story elements of Bond creator, Ian Fleming’s novels. Moreover, GoldenEye saw M recast as Judi Dench marking the first female portrayal of the character!

Goldfinger

Sean Connery plays a smooth Bond, investigating a gold smuggling scandal orchestrated by gold magnate, Auric Goldfinger. This Bond instalment was the first blockbuster with a budget equivalent to that of the previous two films combined! However, the film recovered its budget in just two weeks in movie theatres and is considered by many as the epitome of the Bond film franchise.
