25th Wedding Anniversary Celebration 5 stars 30 May 2018

We stayed at the Atlantic Hotel for our 25th Wedding Anniversary at the beginning of May. First impression of the hotel …. WOW ! The Reception and all areas of the hotel were just amazing and spotlessly clean. We had a third floor room with beautiful views over Newquay’s beaches, it was just stunning. Our double room was very comfy and spacious with tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom with shower and roll top bath was just so relaxing. Breakfast was very good each morning and all staff throughout the hotel were extremely pleasant and helpful. We had a fabulous stay at the Atlantic Hotel and look forward to returning soon. Thank you everyone at the Atlantic Hotel.

Our Favourite Hotel in Cornwall 5 stars May 2018

Having seen a lot of the world we are now enjoying visiting more places in our own delightful country for short and medium breaks and Cornwall is one of our favourite counties. We stayed at the Atlantic Hotel on a previous occasion, loved it so much that it is now our preferred base when visiting Cornwall. This hotel is still privately owned and is a delight to stay in at any time of the year. The decor is superb and reflects the heritage and interesting history of The Atlantic Hotel. It features all the amenities one would expect of a four star hotel including a delightful Champagne Bar and Bistro, (Silks), Swimming Pool, and a host of other interesting places to sit and reflect, read, drink or meet with others. Location on the headland is outstanding and the views over Newquay and the Atlantic coast are mesmerising in their beauty. Breakfast is taken in the main Dining Room overlooking the sea, and what a breakfast it is with a fabulous array of foods on offer to suit all needs and tastes and to set yourself up for a day. The surfing beach of Fistral Bay is just a few minutes walk away, as is the main town of Newquay and its wonderful beaches. This hotel is also very well located for exploring other parts of enchanting Cornwall. The Atlantic Hotel is dog friendly, and dogs are treated as valued guests (along with their owners) and the hotel rooms are spacious and very well appointed with all the amenities needed to make your stay extra special. The hotel staff are all in a league of their own being friendly, professional, and all prepared to go the extra mile to ensure guest satisfaction. This is one hotel for which I can find absolutely no fault whatsoever, and it is no wonder that guests tend to become regulars and go back there again and again. We certainly will.

Atlantic Hotel — 5 star reviewed May 7 at 1:52pm

We chose the Atlantic as our wedding venue on the 28th April 2018 and are so glad we did. The hotel, staff and obviously location are just perfect. It was the most amazing day that went off without a hitch. The staff cannot do enough for you, Sophie, Cath and Lorraine dealt with us during the 2 year lead up to the day and nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing and everyone commented on the high standards. Highly recommended.

Atlantic Hotel — 5 star February 13 ·

We stayed here Saturday 10th feb, what a fantastic stay it was, our room was fab and very clean with a gorgeous sea view (even if the weather wasn’t on our side) our 3 course meal was delicious. Buffet style breakfast in the morning was great. And also returning home I realised I had left my necklace and ring which was of sentimental value, and thankfully it was found and the hotel kept in touch!! Highly recommend staying here. Thank you very much to all the staff at Atlantic hotel.

Fab weekend 5 stars 15 Jan 2018

Had a wonderful 2 night stay here. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were really lovely and the sea view fantastic. Food in the restaurant was exceptional and not bad prices either! Lovely pool and sauna area. And the fact you can enjoy a massage on site is great. Would definitely stay again.

Top 5 tips for Christmas Party Planning

Top 5 tips for planning a Christmas Party…

Who better to ask about planning a Christmas Party than our Events Manager and all-time super organised Cath! The Atlantic Hotel and Silks Bistro and Champagne Bar welcome a staggering 3,200 Christmas party goers each year, and there isn’t a request she hasn’t had to deal with… here are Cath’s top five tips for planning your Christmas Party…….

# 1. Set the date:

Seems simple but finding a date that can accommodate your colleagues is one of the hardest tasks… The best way is to send a list of potential dates and then go with the majority who can make it…. Make sure of course that Management and Directors can attend- it is so important for those at the top to be there and ensure their team gets the party they deserve!

Remember, you cannot please everyone, but once the date is set, do not change it, this can lead to confusion and can open a real can of worms! Once that date is agreed, make sure you send a “Save the date” email invitation with a read receipt on followed by an email invitation (and of course note anyone who hasn’t read it!) if you can, invite colleagues via their email diaries.

Ensure that there is a clear deadline to RSVP and send reminders on the deadline, numbers always fluctuate, but it is really important to ensure numbers for your budget and the venue are as accurate as possible.

#2. Confirm your budget:

Make sure that you have a clear budget from Management, nothing upsets a team more than being told they are attending an all expenses paid for 5 course meal with drinks, to find that on the night they must all pay per head. Drinks also seem to get everyone in a panic- set out clear instructions on what your colleagues will receive, whether it be wine on the table and then further drinks to be paid by individuals, drinks tokens, or the holy grail- a free bar (not many of these around now!) Will transport be included? By confirming your budget you can save time by contacting venues within your price range only and check their availability.

#3. Set out the type of Christmas party:

It is important to have a vision for the type of Christmas Party you want to hold- will you invite partners? Will it be a dinner or Lunchtime party? Will the team be looking to throw some shapes on the dancefloor and party the night away? Are you looking to team a Conference during the day following into evening meal and party? (You can do this at The Atlantic Hotel with our eclectic group of function rooms) Always refer to past parties and what worked well, and remember bespoke options = generally a higher price tag, however, offers complete flexibility if your budget will allow, packages are more economical and often preferred for the planner (there’s less to consider and decide on)

#4. Venue:

This is the game changer! Accessibility needs to be carefully considered, can everyone get to the venue via car, bus, train or even plane? Is there parking? Will the venue cater for everyone’s needs? Is there disabled access? How many bedrooms are available for colleagues looking to stay overnight? Is the venue experienced in running successful Christmas parties and events? Do they offer adequate menu options to accommodate all dietary requirements? Can they accommodate you on your preferred night? Is there an Events Manager on duty to talk to during your hours of work? Choose the right venue and everything else will fall into place.

#5. Little extras

If budget allows, little gifts, goody bags, certificates, polaroid cameras on the tables, bespoke decorations, can really bring your party together and will have people talking for years to come, the extras may seem small, but they are extra ways to show your staff how they are valued.

Now time for the shameless plug: The Atlantic Hotel offers extensive parking facilities, 57 sea view bedrooms, multiple function rooms seating up to 500, package or bespoke options, a choice of menus for all dietary requirements, and an experienced Events Manager who can work with you to ensure your party is every success! Our December package party nights in The Atlantic Hotel or our AA Rosette Award winning Silks Bistro and Champagne Bar include a 4 course Festive Menu, welcome drink, and entry to the legendary Atlantic Hotel Disco until late, giving you the chance to mingle with other party groups, or go for the bespoke option and create your very own Christmas Party with 7 function rooms to choose from.

Give us a call today on 01637 872244 or visit http://atlantichotelnewquay.co.uk/festive/christmas-parties/  and ensure you plan a 4 star Christmas Party by the Sea and hero status!

On the Water this September

As the Summer holidays end, locals and holiday makers in the know welcome September in Cornwall, with the crowds from July and August gone, the sea temperature at its warmest and our RNLI still on duty, September is one of the best times of the year to get out on the water.

Here are The Atlantic Hotel’s ideas on how to experience the Cornish coast at its best….

Newquay Sea Safaris run trips throughout the Autumn and Winter and leaves old historical Newquay harbour, down the hill from The Atlantic Hotel, cruising off along the rugged Cornish coastline, stopping to view birds, marine wildlife and crabbing boats whilst learning about Newquay’s Maritime History and the plight of our marine habitat.

At Seal Cove watch the seals in their natural environment before speeding out to deeper ocean for more off shore wildlife encounters to complete your Thrilling Adventure!… Spot for dolphins, Basking sharks, Sunfish, Harbour Porpoise and a huge array of sea birds or watch the Skipper haul his lobster pots. Every day experiences different encounters and sea states so this is a trip that will delight every time.
