Newquay Carnival!

1 July 2014

If you have little ones, the beginning of July is carnival time and is packed full of quirky events to keep them occupied.  This year’s Newquay carnival kicks off with a pre-carnival weekend on 4th July at 4pm-8pm with stalls, entertainment and a family friendly lobster pot race around Newquay Harbour.  The 5th July is ‘festival day’ on Newquay’s Killacourt green, running from 10 am until 5 pm and pre-empts the main carnival with frivolous entertainment, a children’s fun fair and interesting displays.  Sunday 6th July’s carnival activities are held at Newquay’s hidden gem, Trenance Boating Lake and Gardens where the theme is Pirates!  Time to don your best Pirate garb and enjoy model boat racing followed by a 6 man canoe race!  Starting at 11am and running throughout the day, there will be stalls, a children’s fun fair and a highly tense duck race to boot.

As if that wasn’t enough fun for the little ones, the main Carnival event takes place on 12th July and starts marching through Newquay at 6pm.  It’s a fantastic atmosphere for the children and with The Atlantic Hotel only five minutes’ walk from Newquay town centre, we offer an ideal location for joining in the fun whilst allowing the adults some relaxing peace and quiet after it’s all over.  Check out our availability and rates for those dates if you fancy making the most of Newquay’s Carnival week!
